Don't forget the search aggregators such as Dogpile which give you the best of both worlds - you get results from Google and Bing (and Ask and Yahoo!), and you don't have to worry about whether you're missing the good stuff.

Been in Vancouver for three days now, immediately noticed the non-friendliness and feel sad that in a city so beautiful, surrounded by so much beautiful nature, I won't miss Vancouver at all because there is NO HUMAN CONNECTION to be found. I actually have to get out of the habit of saying "Good morning" because I end up feeling like a schmuck each and every time I get ignored. Too big? Too many drugs? Too much money? Too little money? Whatever the explanation is something important is lacking here. I've been to 35 countries so I know what's out there... thanks for your blog.

You're a lifesaver! Thank you so much for posting this -- I've now got the Zune software installed *with* wireless sync working on my WHS box. For what it's worth, I didn't have any issues with the Zune 3.0 software; maybe WHS installs some prereqs that aren't present in a regular Server 2003 install.

Yup, I'm off Starbucks now. Even though the new soy isn't quite as bad as the American stuff (after reading the label I determined it has about 4 more grams of sugar than the Silk stuff, still 5g less than the american variety), it still has a kind of artificial taste to it and, like you said, for $4.75 it's gotta be better than that.

On the plus side, my bank account is perfectly happy without the added $5 a day expense.

I use to buy a soy latte every morning .. my store used to use Silk .. two weeks ago it tasted like crap .. turns out that they did switch and its some generic 'foaming' soymilk that tastes like crap .. I told them for $4.75 at least use a good soy like Silk .. supposedly a corporate directive .. Starbucks is losing it .. cutting costs, hurting product .. lost consumer .. I now buy black coffee from Tim Hortons

Now that TransLink has their next bus service available via SMS (i.e. text the bus stop number to 33333 and get the list of arrival times for the next few buses), that should make this kind of information accessible to more people (not just the Blackberry/iPhone elite :P).

The cost of showing next bus times on electronic signs at every stop would not be trivial and I'd question the value-add in such a system... Afterall, you're at the stop anyway so in most cases you're getting on the bus when it comes (... if it comes? ha).

Not to be negative, but rather than sending next-bus arrival times to people wealthy enough to have iPhones and Blackberrys.. hoe about flashing this info to electronic signs installed at the bus stops?

They have that feature only on the B-lines, but what about all the otehr bus routes in the city ???
